Details
Epitaph Crushed by the hand of a Greater Demon. (While his friends bravely ran away.)
Obituary Quill-Scratch was a scribe to a powerful wizard.
One day the wizard attempted to cast a spell beyond his level and he exploded into dust, creating a surging cloud of raw and wild magical energy.
Quill-Scratch, caught in the epicentre of the blast, awoke three days later, with a sore head, singed feathers and a new unbridled talent.

Soon after this event, but before he could properly learn to control his wild magic, he was kidnapped by a Drow scouting party and taken to the underdark.

As a prisoner he made close friends and allies with his fellow captives and helped stage a jailbreak, his ability for mimicry a key part of the escape.

Some weeks of exploring with his new friends pass, until the party stumbled upon the lair of a powerful demon and it's army of minions.
The party fled down a tunnel, while Quill-Scratch used his magic to attempt to slow the pursuing horde.
Though his noble attempt bought his friends the time they needed, the Kenku was overcome by the great demon itself and was crushed within it's terrible grasp.

His "Keen mind" and unpredictable magical surges shall forever be missed by his compatriots, (but not by the Dungeon Master.)
