Obituary Age 0
Borivik was born in the city during a conflict between the public, the city guards and a wealthy citizen who was widely suspected by the former two groups of necromancy. He opened a powerful ritual, transporting the city to another world, full of ghosts, lost spirits, and the dead, for a whole day. In this time, Borivik was born - the necromancer was slain by a group of heroes, and the city returned to the prime material, but Borivik himself carried a spark of the Ethereal within him, and was reluctant to share his birthdate with those who knew the city's history.

Age 0-9
Borivik grew up in a poor and squalid home, the child of two nobodies. He spent a great deal of his time as a young child roaming the streets with other children. One night his parent's were absent when he returned home, and he didn't particularly mind - what had they ever done for him, anyways?

Age 9-14
He continued to roam with the other street-kids, but also started to visit a local library, taking an interest in some of the old books laying around his own home, and in the gossip he'd heard about the city's past. He had some help from a librarian there-in, but quickly caught on to reading, and within a year was well versed in the city's history, specifically it's many necromancers, and was also beginning to take interest in magic himself. He started to neglect his friends - spending less time with them, and using what time he did spend around them to manipulate them into helping him stay on his feet, so that he could spend more and more time pouring through old tomes in the library.

Age 14-20
He worked in the library for a short-while even, and used the money on gifts and dates with a girl he'd fell in love with - Kateen - her life wasn't quite as squalid as his, and he always felt comfortable at her house. However her family eventually moved to another city, and the two split paths. He made friends with a couple of urchins - a shifty lizardfolk and a thick-headed but muscly goblin. They insisted he come with them on a shop-burglary and use a little of his simple magic to aid them, but they were caught. He managed to lie to the watch about his involvement, saying he'd been threatened - saving his skin but costing him his last friends.

Age 20-25
He eventually shifted from library work to a spot in the watch, and his keen mind and quick tongue managed to help him climb to the rank of Investigator.

Age 25-30
He began to be known for his expertise on magic and his ability to uncover necromancer's hideouts and stashes for the watch. He rarely engaged them head on however - simply visiting suspects, subtly investigating, and then calling in the watch for a raid when he found something. He would then often get to confiscate what was found and study it himself - but he always kept the appearance of being interested in necromancers, not necromancy itself.

Age 30-35
At one point he was given permission to lead a squad of men on a raid, and when he did so, he was instantly knocked out and nearly killed, due to his own incompetence in face-to-face combat and due to his men's lack of initiative. He came to despise their mindless obedience, and would start to investigate alone, using his familiar and other magic to investigate. This was a slow transition though. Towards the end of this period, he began to use a disembodied hand as his familiar, and then he received a letter from his past love, Kateen, containing a gift, and making small talk. He has this letter, and the gift, on him currently. The gift was a pair of bone-carved dice.

Age 36
Minusergo was attacked, by Brightflame, who sought to spread their influence while destroying a hub for necromancy. Of course, far more innocents died than necromancers or undead. Borivik spent a short amount of time trying to direct troops in the city's defense, before realizing that those above him were unfit to lead, and those below were unable to think for themselves. So he deserted, fleeing the city on horseback, and leaving it to it's fate - he'd never been one to pick the losing s
