He was taken from us by a pair of dopplegangers whilst protection his niece, the Draconic Sorceress Katniss.

Obituary:

He was a mercenary after his training as a guard. A boring life was not what he wanted. He traveled around, getting influenced by the Dark Prince Graz'zt. He became his Cleric of War and fought for glory and blood. 

When summoned to protect his niece, Katniss, as she is the fortold Dragon Sorceress, he joined the cause. His ambitions were also best in this prophecy but he would not come that far.

He left his prized Staff of the Python with his niece and blessed the weapon of the dwarven rogue Daenlin to make sure Katniss will not go undefended.
